Final two stamp club projects

These were my other two cards for stamp club last week.  The first one is a Big Shot criss cross card.  It is super easy and cute!  You can see a video tutorial on Patty's blog here.  I used the Holiday Treasures designer paper, the Holiday Trinkets stamp set and Heard from the Heart Greeting stamp set.

The second card is the snowglobe Mr. Twigster.  I CASE'd this from AnaMarie.  Here is her card.  I swiped a Sahara Sand marker and some glitter around the edge of the "globe" and some blue bayou ink and glitter around one side of Mr. Twigster.   Then I did a little sponging with Sahara Sand ink followed by some glitter around the greeting.  The designer paper is from the Ski Slope paper pack.

It's cold here in Minnesota today.  25 degrees.  Brrrr!  I guess it's appropriate to be playing with Mr. Twigster!

Acetate Flower

This was one of the cards we made in stamp club this month.  The flower is done with a technique by Andrea Walford called Acetate Accents.  You can see the tutorial here.  Basically, I applied the white rub-on onto a transparency folded in half.  Then I filled in around the flower and the middle of the flower with crystal effects.  Then I sprinkled some of the colored glitter from cosmo glitter pack and added a little more crystal effects on the other side and sealed together.  Once it dried I cut around the square. 

The greeting is stamped with white craft ink and embossed with winter white embossing powder.

We got our first snow today!  There's something magical about the first snow of the season.  It's melting already but we're supposed to get more snow this weekend.  Thanks for stopping by!

Holiday Stamp-a-Stack cards

Tonight I am having a Holiday Stamp-a-Stack class.  Participants get to make 3 each of these 5 card designs.  It's always fun coming up with card designs that are cute but not too labor intensive and with stamp sets that are current and that I own! 

The snowflake card uses the ski slope dp, kraft cardstock, the let it snow jumbo wheel in craft white ink, and the Stampin' Up! Sizzix snowflake sizzlits die.

The reindeer card uses the holiday lineup stamp set and ski slope designer paper. 

The tree card uses the holiday blitz stamp set, and holiday treasures dp.

The snowman card uses the level 2 hostess set, deer friends, and the Frosty Days dp.

The ornament card uses the Holiday Trinkets stamp set, the Santa's lineup jumbo wheel, the holiday treasures dp, the 1 3/4" circle punch, and the scallop circle die from the Stampin' Up! exclusive Sizzix pennants die.

The kids have a late start day today.  Do your kids have this?  These late start days always seem to sneak up on me.  They go in two hours later.  It's kind of nice for them to be able to sleep in during the week except they never seem to sleep in!  hehehe.  Well, my 14 year old daughter does but the boys usually end up playing video games.  Either way it's kind of nice to not have to rush so much in the morning.

Recipe challenge #22

This is my card for Tamara's recipe design team this week.  The recipe challenge this week was to use 1-2 designer papers, embossing(wet or dry) and a charm.

The embossing part was the Merry Christmas greeting.  The charm is the big snowflake.  The designer paper is from the I Wish Simply Scrappin' kit and the monochromatic chocolate chip back.  The bird is from the Stampin' Up! Sizzix birds and blooms die set.

Open House make-n-takes

Oops!  I'm a day later than I said I would be posting my open house make-n-takes.  I had stamp club last night and I was getting ready for that and figuring out my final card.  I'll post those projects this week.  There - I just need to be a little more vague when I'll post things!  hehehe. 

Both projects used the big shot.  The snowmen card is based on a layout of a card I saw here.  I loved the way the top note die was used at the top of the card and was partially cut off.  Is there no limit on what you can do with this top note die?!

The second project was a tag.  The scallop circle is from the scallop circles#2 die.  The snowflakes are from the snowflake sizzlits 4  pack and the Joy comes from the Join in the Cheer Decorative Strip Die.  I just cut the Joy part out of the words. 

My open house went great!  I always enjoy having the time to chat with my customers and show them some fun projects.

Aren't these a fun project?  They are little holders for tictacs.  I saw this idea on Rochelle's blog.  She has instructions over there so check it out!

Kristina and I created these together.  Do you find that when you are stamping with another stamper the creative energy flows?  That's what happens with us!  We used Mr. Twigster of course.  The snowflakes are from the Short and Sweet greeting set and they are stamped with craft white ink.  The base is baja blue and the red panel is the riding hood red.  They are wrapped in the black gingham ribbon for a pop of black.

This tree will be on display at my open house.  It is made with the Stampin' Up! exclusive Sizzix pennant die.  You can see basic instructions on how to make these here on Marie's blog.

I made the ornaments with the 1/2" circle punch in pacific point, real red and tangerine tango.  Then I swirled my 2-way glue pen around them and sprinkled dazzling diamonds over them.  Sparkly ornaments!

I gotta run.  There's more to do to get ready for today's open house.  I'll post the make-n-takes we did on my blog tomorrow.

Halloween Pictures

I hope you all had a safe and fun Halloween!  It was a very nice and warm night here in Minnesota.  Here are my 3 dressed up for Halloween.  Nicholas(on the left) was a bloody skeleton.  He could push this pump and blood would actually flow over the ribcage.  Lovely.  Rebecca has said this is her last Halloween trick-or-treating for the last 3 years.  She and her friends dressed up as high school sports fans.  Translate-they didn't really dress up. Sam was Indiana Jones.  We had more trick-or-treaters than we have ever had.  Must have been the nice night and that Halloween was on a weekend.

   Here are some of our Halloween decorations.  Each year my dh goes all out with the pumpkin carving with the kids.  It's become their tradition.  Sam chose a pattern of a ghost.  It is one of the ones you get in the pumpkin carving kits.  But Rebecca and Nicholas each made their own custom patterns.  Nicholas found an image of Mario and carved that in his pumpkin. Here is a picture of his pumpkin.  Rebecca is into the Twilight series of books so she chose the cover picture of hands holding an apple for her pumpkin.  I thought they both turned out great!

I hope your Halloween was great too!  I'll be back tomorrow with some photos from my Kick off the Holidays Open House.  It is tomorrow afternoon.  It's daylight savings this weekend too so we get an extra hour of sleep!  Woohoo!  We can always use that!
