Recipe Challenge#46

It's time for this week's Recipe challenge!  I came up with this week's challenge.  The projects had to include the following:

-Stitching, real or faux
-rub-ons
-a winged thing(bird, butterfly, fairy, etc.)

I just received this Love Owlways stamp set for FREE for my Sale-a-bration sales.  It's such a cute set and because owls are winged things it worked for this challenge!  The words on the chocolate band are rub-ons from the Cheery Chat rub-ons set and the stitching is going around the polka dot chocolate designer paper.  Don't look too closely at my stitching.  This is why I only got red ribbons for sewing in 4H.  i never was much of a seamstress. lol!  I had the Sizzix flower laying around in my craft room so I attached that with a sizzix button and that was that!

I had my Big Shot VIP party on Sunday.  We made 3 fun Big shot projects.  I'll post those later this week.  i can't get enough of my Big Shot!

Easter Spread

I found an adorable Easter page on Kimberly's blog and knew I wanted to CASE it.  I took her idea and tweaked it a bit and made it into a 2-page spread.  I love the result!

The bunny on the left side is made with the Stampin' Up! Sizzix Top Note die and Stampin' Up! punches.  He's done in Creamy Caramel cardstock.  The chick was an idea from my friend, Pam.  She made adorable chick cards for our stamp club and I knew I wanted to try this on a scrapbook page.  It's done with the Stampin' Up! Sizzix Scallop die#2, and Stampin' Up! punches.  The flowers are done with 3 circle punches.  Two of them have the large grommets from the Occasions mini catalog and jumbo white brads in the middle.  The carrots are done using the Trendy Trees stamp set.  This idea came from Kimberly's page.  The right hand page has eggs made out of the Stampin' Up! Sizzix ovals die and Slumber Party designerp paper.  The grass is cut free hand and then cut into strips at the top.  The background is the egg wheel from the Occasions mini, and the title is the Go Go boots Sizzix alphabet.  Lots of sponging finishes it all off.  I have lots of cute pictures of my little nieces in their Easter dresses to put on this page spread!

I'm steam cleaning my carpets today.  What a job!  We have a steam cleaner but we rented a heavy duty one to really get down deep.  I guess it's spring cleaning mode for me.

Recipe Challenge#45

i made a pretty simple card for this week's Recipe Challenge #45.  The challenge was to use:

-patterned paper
-ribbon
-include an image of something that flies

The base is chocolate chip cardstock.  The patterned paper is some I just picked up a sale.  The ribbon is from Michaels and the butterfly is a leftover I had from a pack of dimensional chipboard stickers.  The greeting is a rub-on from the Cheery Chat rub-on pack.

Fruit gift set

This was the final project at our Mystery Hostess party Wednesday night.  We made a simple fruit notecard and a folder to hold a set of notecards.  A great gift idea!  The closure of the folder is done by adhering the red grosgrain ribbon around the middle and leaving two loose ends hanging.  Then I wrapped a designer brad from the silver hodgepodge hardware kit and bent the ends around the ribbon to hold it closed.  The designer paper is from the Rockabilly paper pack. Crystal effects on the cherries is the perfect touch!

Stamps:  Celebrate Everything, Tart and Tangy
Ink:  Basic Black, Kiwi Kiss, Real Red marker
Paper:  Rockabilly designer paper, Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White

Other:  Silver Hodgepodge hardware, 1 3/8" circle punch, circle scallop punch, Read Red wide grosgrain ribbon, stampin' dimensionals

Today is day two of our Mega Stamp and Scrap Sale.  Yesterday was a beautiful sunny day in Minnesota and our sale was a huge success.  We have plenty of stamps and scappin' stuff left!  We hope for another great sale day today!

Mystery Hostess Event projects

Last night was my Mystery Hostess Hawaiian party.  I forgot to take pictures at the actual event.  Do you do that?  You get so caught up in the fun you forget to take photos?  It happens to me all of the time!  I can show you some of the projects we made last night.  The first one is a flower card that has double corduroy buttons in the middle of the flower.  I love the effect of this!

Recipe:
Stamps:  Petal Pizazz, Thank You Kindly
Paper:  Chocolate Chip monochromatic designer paper, Walk in the Park designer paper, Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Whisper White, Baja Breeze
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Kiwi Kiss, Craft White
Other:  Scribbles Sizzix die cute, corduroy buttons, circle scallop punch, stampin' dimensionals

This next card is pretty simple.  I got the color combo from the Hoppy Memories Simply Scrappin' kit.  Stampin' Up! has great color combos in their paper packs, SS kits, and project samples so I frequently borrow their color combos.

Recipe:
Stamps:  Fifth Avenue Floral, Oval All
Paper:  Basic Black, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise
Ink:  Really Red, Tempting Turquoise, Pumpkin PIe, Kiwi Kiss
Other:  Large Oval punch, oval scallop punch, blender pen, stampin' dimensionals

I have one more project we did that I will post tomorrow. 

I have the pre-sale for our Stamp and Scrap Sale this afternoon for those who brought stuff for the sale and then the big sale starts tomorrow.  I'm exhausted but excited for the sale!

Huge Rubber Stamp and Scrapbooking Sale!!!

Well, I have been talking about it for awhile and it's almost here - my 2nd Annual Rubber Stamp and Scrapbooking Sale.  We are really heavy on the rubber stamps this year but we also have lots of designer papers, tools, die cutting machines, etc.  We have thousands of stamps including tons of Stampin' Up!, tons of single stamps and Hero Arts, and Close to My Heart(DOTS). There are 20 crafters who brought stuff for the sale.  We are very organized and are like a store.  We have shopping baskets and accept cash and credit cards.  If you are local to the Twin Cities area(or will be in the area this weekend) you are welcome to come and shop the sale.  Just e-mail me at [email protected] for directions.   The sale is Friday, April 17 from 8 to 6 pm and Saturday, April 18, 9 am to Noon.  Here are a few pictures of the stuff.  It doesn't really do it justice.  Anyone who walks into my 3 car garage is amazed at how much we have!

Recipe Challenge#44

This week's recipe challenge for Tamara's blog was to use the following:-

• A Repeating Pattern (whether it be on patterned paper or a pattern you make yourself)
• Numerals
• A One Word Title (or sentiment) -- subtitles and sub-sentiments can be used

My card couldn't be simpler.

I used some paper from my stash and the celebrate everything stamp set.  I stamped the numbers from taffy alphabet numbers and cut them out.  It's going to a friend of my son who is oddly enough turning 11 in May.  Go check out what the rest of the design team came up with on Tamara's blog here.

I have been itching to get into my stamp room to stamp but I have been swamped with getting ready for my HUGE stamp sale this weekend.  We literally have thousands of stamps, and papers, tools, punches, embellishments, etc.  I'm going to post a few pictures tomorrow so you can get the idea of how huge is huge!  You really have to see it to believe it. 

I'm hosting a Hawaiian Luau Mystery Hostess Party tomorrow night(crazy, I know) and I will post the projects we do from that this week.  I hope to blog hop again soon too!

Cute Tote and Cards

I found this cute tote idea on Julie's blog awhile back and just loved it!  I am having a class on this tote with 8 cards and envelopes on April 22. 

This class uses part of the Love Sparkles Simply Scrappin' kit.  This kit is incredibly cute!  Here are samples of some of the cards that will go inside the tote.  The cards will be for a variety of occasions including birthday, anniversary, thank you's, Mother's day, etc. This will make a great gift for Mother's day, teacher's gift, graduation gift, birthday gift, etc.  It makes such a nice and complete gift!

Here is a group of gals I was at Regionals with.  We're missing Terri from the picture.  She was off somewhere.  Paris was about to leave so we took a quick photo. 

Paris is at the top.  I met Paris probably about 5 years ago when we organized the first Minnesota SCS get together in Apple Valley.  I have organized several since.  It's always fun to meet fellow enthusiasts!  The rest of the ladies in the picture are my downline.  From left to right:  Paula, Kristina, Kelly and I.  These ladies are great friends as well as downline.  We always laugh and have so much fun when we are together!  Regionals was no different.  After Regionals my downline and Terri and I walked to a nearby Mexican restaurant.  I LOVE Mexican food!  It's my favorite!  We met some other SCS ladies there and the good times continued.  The Margaritas helped that along too!  They were yummy!

I hope to try some of the things they showed us at Regionals before I forget!  We'll see how that goes since I have my big Stamp and Scrap Sale next weekend.

Stitched Cupcake

This was one of the cards for stamp club this month.  The stamp is from the Level 3 hostess stamp bundle, Hand Drawn Bundle.  I was able to purchase this bundle before the catalog came out.  It was a must have for me with the cupcakes!  This bundle comes with a stamp set of 4, coordinating designer paper and coordinating rub-ons.  The designer paper on this card is from the bundle too. 

This has become a go to favorite layout of mine.  I like having the two pieces of designer paper separated with some of the cardstock peeking through.  It works great with stitching!
