I saw this card box idea on Val's blog and created a class with the card box and 6 coordinating cards and envelopes.

This is the first week for the new Recipe challenge on the Recipe Card Challenge blog. This week's challenge was Christmas in July. Here is my recipe card for the challenge:
I used some retired confetti tan cardstock and retired Christmas designer paper from Stampin' Up! The penguine and snowflakes come from the Stampin' Up! punch pals stamp set. When Julie announced she was started the Recipe challenge blog I was so excited! It ties in nicely with an idea I've been noodling around in my head for awhile. I'm starting a Recipe card club! Here are three samples of the types of cards we might make:
Each month the club will meet on the third Sunday of the month. The hostess of the month will provide me 3 recipes that I will create recipe cards for. The club members will make the 3 recipe cards each month. I'm hoping people will be giving me their best tried and true recipes so we should have a beautiful book full of yummy recipes when we're done! I still have a few openings. A little while back I posted some cards I made for a Wow card swap I participated in. Here are a couple of the cards I received in return. The first one is from Peggy-Sue.
Isn't this amazing? Wow doesn't even begin to describe this card! Peggy-Sue really goes the extra mile with her cards. She pays such attention to detail. This card will be a treasure in my collection!
This next card is a very clever use of the Circle Circus stamp set.
I can't find the name of the person who made this card. If you know please let me know so I can give her credit. She punched out each circle close to one edge and then backed it with different stamped circles from the Circle Circus stamp set. I love the colors and her creative design of the card!
I have lots more swap cards to show you. I just need to get them photographed, edited and uploaded. I have a lot cooking right now! Today is my Big Shot VIP party. This is for my customers who have bought the Stampin' Up! Sizzix starter kit(when it was still available) or spent $200 or more with me in Sizzix products. My downline, Kristina, and I put together some fab make-n-takes, demos, and some yummy food too! I'll post those projects this week.
I have joined a new design team. It's a recipe card design team sponsored by my friend, Julie, of scrapbookstoreatyourdoor. I am starting a recipe card club so this will tie in nicely with that! This summer has been crazy busy and joining another design team is probably crazy too but I think I work good under pressure. lol. At least that's what I'm telling myself.
This Friday I am hosting a mini convention for my downline. This is the first year I will not be at the Stampin' Up! convention. I have been to 7 of them and have loved every one of them! But this year none of my downline were able to go and it just didn't seem like much fun without them. So I decided we would have our own little mini convention. I have a great group of ladies in my downline group, the Hopperstampers. We laugh, stamp, and have a great time together! That's what it's all about, isn't it? So, I'm planning this next big event.
My Stampin' Up! business has been firing on all pistons this summer which I am very grateful for. My kids are also at an age where they are involved in a lot of activities which requires driving them all over the known universe! My oldest, Rebecca, is 15 and took drivers ed classroom this summer as well as, a Summer Stretch program, and her busy social life. My middle one, Nicholas, is 11 and was in the Burnsville Fire competive soccer program. That just ended this week but the fall program starts up in a few weeks. My youngest,Sam, is 9 and is in a park program twice a week, gymnastics, swimming lessons, skateboard camp, and a few other things. He likes to be busy! Between that and arranging play dates they have kept me hopping!
I have done lots of stamping this summer, I just don't always have the time to photograph and post my projects. It's good to be busy it just would be nice for a little more life balance! When they all go back to school I hope to find that.

The elephant card was a simplified version of a card by RoseMarie Diehl. The medallion card was based on some cards I saw in blogland. The scallop card was made using the new Stampin' Up! Sizzix square scallop die. Love this!

Today is the next Scrap and Stamp Challenge. Today's challenge is called Water Fun - create a layout that has something to do with water such as boating, swimming, fishing, bathtime, etc. Anything you like as long as there is water involved! Elements required are two patterned papers, three embellishments, and at least one stamped object in your layout! Here is what I came up with for this week's challenge.
I used the new In Color, Bermuda BAY. i wheeled the Jumbo Whimsy Wheel over it in Taken with Teal. The photos are matted in Kiwi Kiss and the circles are Tangerine Tango. I can't believe how well some of the old In Colors and new ones look together! I only used one designer paper. It is from My Minds Eye. The large star and bracket are also from My Minds Eye. The journaling block is a retired stamp from Stampin' Up! called Just Journaling. The star on the journaling block is from the Under the Stars stamp set. I stamped the star onto to Bermuda Bay cardstock and cut it out. The star fit perfectly inside an orange acetate star from My Minds Eye. I placed this in the corner of the journaling block. THe chipboard letters are from Pressed Petals.

I had this idea of having this elephant from the new stamp set, Animal Stories, balancing a cupcake on his trunk. I don't think I'm too original there but I do love the way this turned out! This is my third and final swap for a WOW card swap I am in. I can't wait to see what swaps I get back! There's a lot of putzy elements on this card. I can't believe I made 11 of them! I did and I lived to tell the tale. The elephant ear and leg are stamped twice, cut out and popped up on stampin' dimensionals. The cupcake is stamped, colored, cut out, and popped up on a stampin' dimensional. The party hat is stamped, colored, cut out, and popped up on stampin' dimensionals. The scallop background is done by punching out 6 of the scallop squares and stacking them side by side to give a bigger mat.

When using the Circle Circus stamp set as a background I discovered that one of the open ring stamps in the set fit around this other stamp in the set. I stamped my circles in crushed curry and dusty durango and stamped over them in black with the open ring stamp using my stamp-a-ma-jig. It really jazzes it up!
Here are the steps to this background. It's a little putzy but worth it!
