Once a quarter over the past year I have invited my Bigshot VIP customers to a special event showcasing all of the wonderful things you can do with the BigShot. Last Friday I hosted my final one. I'll be having BigShot classes next year for anyone who wants to come. I do three make-n-takes during this event, demo other great ideas and have tons of samples using the Big Shot. For the demos and the make-n-takes I look for out of the ordinary ideas for use with the BigShot. Here are the three make-n-takes we did.
This is a felt basket made out of the Baskets and Blooms die. This creative idea came from Connie of Constantly Stamping. You can view her video tutorial here.
Next up is a textured background made with die cuts. This is a really cool idea from Margaret of Fun Stampin' with Margaret. You can check out more information here.
Just think of the possiblities with this technique! You could use punches and other die cuts. Like I always tell my customers every BigShot machine is calibrated slightly differently so what works best on your machine may need to be shimmed on another. Case in point, when I tried this technique with my machine I found I needed to die cut the leaves out of the cardboard backing from Stampin' Up!'s designer paper packs instead of using die cuts out of cardstock. The cardstock just didn't leave a deep enough impression.
The third project is a double ornament window made out of the Holiday Shapes Movers and Shapers. I first saw this idea on Dawn's blog.
The white berries are made using the white uniball gel pen. I also had everyone ink up the ornaments and then dab around them with the white shimmerz paint and then stamp. It adds a little more wow to the card.
Thanks for stopping by!
