Did anyone go out Black Friday shopping? My daughter and I tackled the crowds. We had great luck and our first two stores - Target and Kohls. No significant lines and we found most of the things we were looking for. Then we decided to drive to another area and the traffic was terrible. We abandoned the store based on the nightmare in the parking lot. We moved onto another mall but it wasn't our usual mall so we were unfamiliar with where everything was and it was overwhelming! So we drove back to "our mall" and finished up our shopping. My daughter had to work at 5:00 for 3 hours. Then she came home and put up the tree with my husband. What a long(but good!) day.
So now I'm all rested up again. It's a good thing cuz there's a lot on my plate today. I will be putting the rest of the Christmas decorations up and getting ready for my Holiday Open House tomorrow.
I want to share with you one last recipe card from Recipe club this month.
I made the blueberries with the 1/2" circle punch and Not Quite Navy cardstock. I sponged them with Night of Navy ink and highlighted them with the uniball white gel pen. The bowl is made with 1/2 of 1 1/4" circle punch and 1/2 of 3/4" circle punch in River Rock and sponged it with Soft Suede ink.
The jumbo ric rac is made with the Tasteful Trim Sizzix die from the Holiday mini catalog. After die cutting this piece I ran it through the polka dots embossing folder to give it some fun texture. I finishedit off with a cherry cobbler button and vanilla taffeta ribbon.
And here is a picture of the dessert.
