Happy Thanksgiving! We are going to spend today with my mom and my side of the family. We alternate years with my husband's family. There's a bunch of us on my side. There should be 35 or so of us this year. Maybe more. I'm bringing the desserts. I baked a pecan pie, frosted shortbread and caramel rice krispy balls. Two of them are new recipes so I hope they'll taste good! Dessert is very important to my family. We all have terrible sweet tooths! We'll have the tradiitional turkey and stuffing. Because we are all traveling from different places we don't usually do mashed potatoes. It's hard to make all of the hot dishes with limited oven space. So we make a different potato dish which my family loves - we call them Peggy Potatoes! My oldest sister Peggy introduced them to the family and they have become a family tradition ever since! we also have our traditional orange salad which is not a salad at all but an excuse to eat more dessert! Someone will bring veggies which we will eat to feel less guilty about all of the other stuff and rolls too. What are your family's traditional Thanksgiving foods?
Since we are talking about all of this yummy food, I want to share a recipe card from recipe club this month. Wendi provided this yummy recipe.
The letters are made with the Broadsheet Alphabet. You may recognize these letters from the Austin card we made last week. I love the look of this alphabet! So stylized and fun! I stamped the letters in Early Espresso on Whisper White and punched them out with the 1 1/4" circle punch. I popped them up with stampin' dimensionals. The background is stamped in Old Olive Ink on Old Olive cardstock with a flower from the Fast and Fabulour Level 2 hostess set. The flower embellishment is made with XL Fancy flower punched out in Poppy Parade designer paper from the Level 1 paper pack, the 5 petal flower punched out in Daffodil Delight designer paper from the Greenhouse Gala designer paper pack. Then I place a vintage brad in the middle.
And here is a picture of this yummy salad.
This is healthy and delicious!
Check back tomorrow for another yummy recipe and a totally cute punch art chef!
Have a safe and happy Thanksving!
Thanks for stopping by!
