My monthly card stamp club likes to do card swaps each month in addition to the cards we make at card club. We start off passing around one swap at a time. Everyone is very appreciative of the cards each one makes and we ooh and aah over what they make. I'll have to start sharing those with you.
Well, we did a Christmas or Winter theme this month. I wanted to make something special for each of my club members. I found this penguin box by Lisa Young and fell in love with it so that was my packaging part of the project.
This was so easy! Just use the Fancy Favor SIzzix box in Basic Black for your base. The feet and face are done with the full heart punch. The tummy with the ovals sizzix die. The beak with the heart to heart punch and the eyes are googlie eyes. A little real red wide grosgrain ribbon and you're done!
Next was the gift itself. I always have a good supply of litle notebooks on hand so I set to work decorating them up. I found this adorable reindeer tag by Jacqueline on splitcoaststampers. I decided that was going to be my focal point on my notebook. This adorable reinder is made with the owl punch! Just cut off the feet and you have the head! Add some red bling for the note, the eyes are the circle from the owl punch and the circle punch from the punch trio pack. The antlers are part of the snowflake punch and add some details with the basic black marker, and highlights in the eyes with the white uniball gel pen.
I love how this turned out! I gotta make up some more of these!
I had a jam packed weekend. It took me two hours to get home from work on Friday because of some snow and slippery roads during rush hour. I fed my boys and then went to pick up my daughter from work. I was all done in by that point and went to bed early. On Saturday we went to a birthday party for my nephew who turned 13 and out to dinner with some friends for my husband's birthday that evening. On sunday after church I headed to my niece's house for a Norwex party. Have you used this stuff? I love their products! In between I added the ornaments to the tree and the countdown to Christmas calendar. It's hard to candy small enough to fit in there! So now we're back to Monday!
I hope you had a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!
