More recipe cards

I have a couple of more recipe cards from my recipe club to share.  The first one is for a yummy Tater Tot Hotdish.  I think I'm going to make this recipe for my family tonight.  the potatoes are made with the owl punch.  Is there anything that punch can't do? 

 

This next one is for Waldorf Salad.

Recipe Club page

January has just been flying by for me!  How about for you?  So many things to do, so little time.  I've been trying to eat healthier but that chocolate keeps calling my name. 

This next recipe card is for a dessert.  It's not chocolate and it has carrots in it so it must be healthy, right?  This is a very yummy recipe!  You can really taste that cinnamon in there. I made this for my guests at  a Norwex party I had last Sunday and it went over well.  Judging by how my family snarfed up the leftovers, it went over well with them too!

 

I used the new cupcake punch to punch out the cupcake.  I embossed the bottom part of the cupcake with the square lattice embossing folder first to give it that texture.  The top was stamped with the speckles stamp from the create a cupcake first and then punched out with the cupcake punch.  The new pompom trim across the bottom of the recipe is a fun new trim in the Occasions mini catalog and the white trim going across is from the Tasteful Trim sizzix die that was in the Holiday mini catalog but it is still available for purchase if you are interested.

Occasions mini swaps

As promised I am sharing with you some of the swaps I received in the Occasions mini swap I was in.

This first one is by Carrie Greskoviak

 

The front left panel is the "Heart Pressed" Letterpress plate.  Such a cute and subtle background.  the heart in the quote bubble is made from the heart to heart punch and the new glitter paper in the mini.  So cute!

Next up is a card by Tina Taves. 

 

Tina used the new glitter paper and the heart punch and the Love Impressions Designer paper. Such a pretty color combo!

The last card for today is by Sandy Hoefakker.

 
Sandy used the heart punch to make a row of punches across her card.  I love the pleated ribbon too.

All three ladies used the Valentine Defined stamp set in the Occasions mini each with a different but, oh so cute, look!

It's bitter cold today in Minnesota.  I think it's been a rough winter, weather wise around the country by the sounds of it.  Tonight we have my son's first band concert.  It's beginner band so it will probably be painful.  Oh, the things we do for our munchkins!

Blushing Bon Bons

This was a card for a card swap I was in featuring sets in the Occasions mini catalog.  I got back some great swaps!  I'll post some of those in the coming days.  The card I made uses the Eat Chocolate stamp set.  Every girl needs this set, at least if you love chocolate.  I wish I didn't love it so much.  There's definitely something chemical that happens in the brain when chocolate enters my mouth.  It's magical!

Anywhoo, i cut out each little bon bon, and the tops too.  What was I thinking?  I made 10 of these puppies! I love the results though.  I just had to pop them up with dimensionals too.  Gotta have some dimension.

Vintage Cupcake

 This was the final card for my stamp club this month and I also used it for a swap I was in. The rose red flower is a new embellishment from the Occasions mini catalog called vintage adornments.  They are real easy to use - just glue them on the back and attach. 

 

Recipe: Create a Cupcake

Ink; Pink Piroutte, Early Espresso, Soft Suede for spongeing

Paper: Pink Pirouette, Very Vanilla, Newsprint designer paper, basic black

Cupcake gift card holder

I gave this sweet little gift card holder to my sister for her birthday.  This is such an easy gift card holder.  I have a video tutorial on how to make them here.  I used the new build a cupcake punch  and cupcake stamp set to decorate the outside. The designer paper is leftover from my Christmas pack from the Occasions mini catalog.  I thought it worked well for birthday too.  I made a quick belly band to hold this one closed.

 

You know what was in the gift card holder?  A Stampin' Up! gift card of course!  She's looking forward to spending it!

I was in my craft room creating the recipe cards for my upcoming Recipe club this weekend.  I will have those to share with you in a few days.  I'll get to try out my new camera on my craft projects.

Little Girl Pink

I've been reading Little Girl Blue, a book about Karen Carpenter.  Do you remember the Carpenters?  I just love her voice!   I grew up in a family of 10 kids, 5 of us girls.  We all shared a room and I associate an artist or group with each of my sister's. I always associate the Carpenters with my sister Mary Jo. Anyway, the book details some of the things she went through.  Such a sad waste of life!

This little girl is little girl pink and she is very happy! This was another of the cards we made in card club last week.  Such a fun set to watercolor! It's called Greetihg Card kids.  Many of us think of them as the Campbell soup kids.  They have that nostalgic look about them.

Slacking

I've been really long in between posts lately.  Mostly due to the holidays, starting a new full-time job, getting a new camera, learning new camera, not liking new camera, new camera not taking good pictures, etc. Our long faithful friend, the Canon Powershot gave up it's life after 7 great years together.  We bought an Olympus and never did get it to work the way we wanted.  My husband returned it today and bought an updated version of the Canon.  Yeah!  I think we will be much happier together! ;) I'm hoping to get some better quality photos to post too.  Maybe even, dare I say, video?  I wouldn't hold my breath on that one but we'll see what we can do.

I have a card to share with you from January's stamp club.  It's using the adorable owl punch.  This one was really putzy and may have had some of my club members cursing at me under their breaths.  But it was fun to create!

We were at my son, Sam's first gymnastics competition today.  He's been taking gymastics for 1 1/2 years and we finally got to see him compete.  He's 10 so he's a little late to start gymnastics(sad, huh?) but he enjoyed it and that's what counts.  They awarded ribbons and medals for the top 4 gymnasts in his age group.  He got two 3rd places, and two 4th places.  That was out of 8 kids in his age group so that was pretty good!  His goal going into the competition was to get at least one 3rd place.  He surpassed that. He was thrilled!  Here's a picture of him with one of his coaches.
