Case and Tweak

Ooh, I had some fun times in my craft room this past weekend.  I was prepping for a party I have tonight and I was Caseing and tweaking(CAT) lots of fun creations I saw on blogs.  It felt so good to create even if a lot of it was Caseing other people's creatons!  Let's get to some of the eye candy.

 

This is done with the Build a Blossom stamp set and punch.  I love the raspberry flower! I cased VDM on SCS.

 

This one was made with the petal cone die and the punch bunch Sale-a-bration stamp set.  I filled it with chocolate to take with me for tonight's party at Phyllis'. It's going to be the door prize.

 

This uses the Ice Cream Parlor Accents pack and buttons from the Ice cream parlour buttons and ribbon pack.  Both are Sale-a-bration freebies.  This will also be one of the make-n-takes at tonight's party.

This last one is my favorite!

 

One of these is going to my nephew's wife for a baby shower that was held for her this past weekend.  I had to miss it because I was too busy working on my taxes and prepping for this party.  I'm going to put a gift card to Target it in there.  The insert is the Top Note die.  I CASED this creation from the Stamp Shack Lady.  There is a template for the diaper here. 

 

I have more creations to share from my creative weekend.  I just haven't got photos of all of them yet.  Stay tuned for more.

More recipe cards

I have the other two recipe cards to share from my Recipe club last week.  The first is a bagel dip and it is so addictive!  I could eat it all day.  It has Accent in it, which I guess is MSG, so I intend to make it with seasoning salt as a replacement.

 

The last one is a light and refreshing dessert recipe.  It's made with Lime Sherbet and creme de menthe and topped with whip cream and a maraschino cherry.  It looks so pretty! I should have taken a picture of it.

We're still battling winter here in Minnesota.  We got more snow yesterday.  We were enjoying a warm up for awhile - temps in the 50's but winter isn't quite done with us yet.   It doesn't get to me as much in March because I know it's not sticking around for long.

Yummy recipe!

Scalloped potatoes and ham.  Doesn't that sound delicious?  This is one of the recipes my hostess will be bringing over today for recipe club.  I can't wait to try it!  Here is the recipe card I created for her recipe that my club members will all get to make.

 

I gave it a vintage feel because it seemed to fit this recipe.

Recipe: Paper: Crumb Cake, Rose Red, Always Artichoke, Old Olive, Very Vanilla, Springtime Vintage designer paper

Other: Birds and Blooms sizzlit dies, Tasteful Trim Sizzix die, Crumb Cake seam binding, Sticky Strip, pearls

I based all of the colors off of the designer paper. That way everything coordinates!

It's my son's 13th birthday today.  Now I have two teenagers in the house.  They are growing up on me too fast!

Striped Chocolate

Two things I love are chocolate and Stampin' Up!'s striped ribbon.  I combined them both on this card.

Other: Polka dots embossing folder, Real red striped ribbn, 3" circle sizzix die, scallops#2 sizzix die, ribbon border punch, stampin' dimensionals

We had a joint birthday party for my 11 year old and 13(almost) year old son on Sunday.  It went well but it is a looooot of work.  I have Bunko tonight, a gymnastics meet on Saturday and Recipe club on Sunday.  The busy train is still going.....

We had a little excitement at my son's school yesterday.  It seems a fire broke out in one of the bathrooms.  They had to shut down the school and evacuate all of the kids.   They were off school today too because the school still needed to get cleared of all of the smoke.  It was handled very well all things considered.  No one was hurt and they did a great job contacting the parents.  What a strange week it's been!

Another make-n-take

This was the other make-n-take at Colette's party this past weekend.  I CASED a card from Mary Brown aka stampercamper.  I modified a few things and used the cool new ribbon trick I learned at Stampin' Up!'s regionals.

I'm on the busy train....

and I want to get off!  Life has gotten much busier for me since going back to working full-time in the fall.  But March is always an especially month even without work.  Both of my boys have birthdays in March, my son Nick has a Futsal tournament(like soccer) one weekend, my son Sam has a gymnastics meet another of the weekends, we have birthday parties for the boys, hockey games on the weekends for my husbands, Stampin' Up! events(especially with Sale-a-bration!) and life!  Did I mention I'm working full-time?  I'm hoping things slow down a little bit after March is over. Whew!

I did have a Stampin' Up! party at Colette's house this past weekend.  She asked that we make a card with the Morning cup stamp set.  I haven't touched this one for awhile because I was playing with other stamping toys but I was happy to put it to use again!  Here is the make-n-take we made.

It was my youngest' Sam's birthday yesterday.  He turned 11.  We bought this totally yummy torte from Cub Foods.  We aren't usually cake people but it was so moist, and the frosting was bettercreme with oreos.  So yummy and all for only $3.99!

 

It was just the right size to cut up in small little pieces for our family of five.
