I'm teaching a stamp class next Thursday night. We will be making 2 each of 3 card designs for a total of 6 cards and envelopes that will all go in a matching card box. Here are the cards and card box.

We went to a Graduation Open House for my nephew, Brady this weekend. I didn't realize I didn't have any graduation stamps. Eek! I'm going to have to remedy that next year because my daughter is graduating and there will be lots of graduating parties to go to! So anywhoo, I have seen these graduation owls around and decided to go this route. I tried to keep it masculine and in his school colors.

I participate in a Wow swap each time a new mini catalog comes out. A group of us that were going to Convention got together for a Wow swap and got to meet each other. This is the card I made for our Wow Swap.
Yes, I used my new favorite color, Pool Party. I just couldnt' resist. This is an easel card. On the front panel I used the double embossed technique. You run your cardstock through the Big Shot with an embossing folder. Then you brayer versamark ink over it and pour irridescent ice embossing powder over it and emboss.

This year's Stampin' Up! convention was a blast. Just imagine 3300 people who are as passionate about something as you are and you get a lot of great energy, excitement and fun!!!
This year's theme was grow. This theme was woven through everything from the decor, the class names, the message, etc.
This was the main stage set.
They were very generous with us this year with lots of give-aways and suprises. They gave us more make-n-takes than we could ever get done in an hour and a half plus a workshop in a bag we could take home with us and use it at a workshop when we got home. All of the projects were planned and pre-cut for us. Do you want to be the first one to get to do these projects? Contact me to book your party!
This is Kelly and I. Kelly is my friend, downline and roommate at Convention. Both of us thought it would be tons of fun to go in a bigger group next year. Why not sign up and join the fun? We would love to take you with us next year!
Kelly and I ate some delicious dinners out while we were in SLC. It was a different cuisine every night, Mexican, Chinese, Italian and good old American. We walked it all of going to and from our hotel. We purposely booked a hotel that wasn't right across the street from the Salt Palace so we could get our exercise in.
We had lots of time between general sessions and classes. There were tons of fun things on display to take pictures of and demosntrations by fellow demonstrators. Here's a few of the displays and samples we had to look at.
The time went fast as all fun things do. On the last day we got together with some leaders in our group to hear and ask questions about how they had such a successful year. Very informative! While we were waiting to meet, Kelly and I wandered around the Salt Palace to explore it. Everyone was gone except the workers tearing everything down. The salt Palace is huge! We barely scratched the surface of this place! There's room for a ton more! We got some funny looks from the Salt Palace crew but it was fun to go exploring.
This last picture is of me by one of the flowers they had scattered all around the Salt Palace. Once everyone was gone Kelly and I had free reign on the photo ops!

Here's a swap card I made just a few of. I LOVE Halloween and wanted to make at least 1 Halloween card for swapping. I found this great sketch on the Mojo Monday blog and off I went!

I'm back from Convention. I had a great time! I didn't get all my swaps posted while I was gone. I just plumb ran out of time. But now I will share them with you. This one was a general swap. I put a lot of work into it but love the end result! I used the new designer frames embossing folder. I couldn't resist using Pool Party again!

As soon as I saw the cover of the beautiful new Stampin' Up! catalog, I fell in love with this stamp set, Field Flowers! I intend to CASE everything from the cover of the catalog. teehee! But for now I needed to concentrate on swap cards for the Stampin' Up! convention. I grabbed a card sketch from Mojo Monday blog and an old favorite color combo of Cherry Cobbler, So Saffron and Early Espresso and off I went.
This is one of my swap cards at convention. I made only 10 of them. I just plumb ran out of time to make more.
This is my first day of Convention. I had an early flight - 7am. I'm going to be one tired, but happy girl!

This is a morning that I wished I drank coffee. I'm slow moving this morning. Just because I don't drink coffee doesn't mean I don't LOVE this stamp set, Morning Cup! This came out in last year's catalog and is still going strong. I just love all of the images and sayings in this set! I made this into a joy fold card. It's based largely on Beate's joy fold card on the tutorial on SCS.
Don't you just love this color combination?! The new In colors have really inspired me. I have been laying out differnent color combinations. I haven't gotten to them all yet. In this card I ued Soft Suede, the new Indigo, Pumpkin Pie and So Saffron. I painted the heart on the cup with a little bit of crytal effects. I always forget to use this stuff but I love the look it gives!
I'm off to Convention tomorrow! Yippee! I'll be sharing my swap cards over the next several days while I"m gone. I'll have tons more to share when I get back too.

I keep going back to this new Pool Party color. It's a In color and has quickly become a favorite. I tried it in a vintage look this time.

This stamp set, Nature Walk, isn't one I would have bought on my own. I got it at the Stampin' Up! Regionals last Spring. I'm glad I got it though. It takes me out of my comfort zone. It's fun to challenge myself and try different styles of stamping.
I have been working hard in my craft room all weekend on convention swaps. It puts a smile on my face. My craft room really is my happy place! I don't have nearly enough swaps completed but there's only so much time. Only 2 more days until I fly out to Salt Lake City!

I finished up with my 2 day Open House last night. Thanks for all who came. It's a always a good time reconnecting with stampers and sharing the brand new Stampin' Up! catalog with them! I'm going to be spending more time stamping this weekend getting some more swaps done for Convention. I leave in four days!
