I put together another sample using the Summer Smooches designer paper and the bitty blossoms stamp set. These items will be available as a sneak peek product offering in April.
I love the color combination of this new paper! I used Island Indigo, Real Red, Tangerine Tango, So Safron and Pear Pizazz ink on the main image. Top off with some button flowers and you're good to go!

Both of my boys have birthdays in March. Sam turned 12 and Nick turned 14. We had a family party for them on Sunday and I made a decadent dessert for them that I found on Pinterest.
You start with chocolate chip cookie dough:
Next you put a layer of double stuffed oreos on top.
Then you mix up a brownie mix and pour that on top.
Bake it for 45 minutes at 350 degrees and you have this yummy goodness!

Sam also had a a friends birthday part over the weekend. I threw together this boy card for him.
Then last night we went to PF Changs for dinner. I can't take these guys anywhere. This is becoming a thing for them to do whenever we are at a Chinese restaurant.

In April there is going to be a sneak peek offering of Stampin' Up!products that will be in the new catalog this Summer. As a demonstrator I was able to order the products a month early. One of the many benefits I LOVE as a demonstrator. I shouldn't have been stamping last night with all of the stuff I have to do this weekend but my new products kept calling to me, "Kathleen, come and play!" I couldn't resist. I made this card with a new stamp set, designer paper, and fabric.
I tore the fabric in a strip, laid sticky strip down on my cardstock and folded the fabric back and forth the get a ruffle look. I strung Island Indigo bakers twine around the middle of the fabric and through the button. Love the fun colors in this new line!
You will be able to get your hands on this new stuff in April. Then it goes away again until June when the new catalog comes out. Yes, I said June. The new catalog comes out a whole month early this year! Squeal!!!

This was one of the recipe cards for our February stamp club. I got the tall cake idea from somewhere but I can't remember where. The "frosting" is the silver glimmer paper. It is punched out with part of the square scallop punch. The cake stand is made with the word window punch and tag punch. This cake was so yummy! I'm not normally an Angel food cake fan but with this yummy frosting it was delicious!
We are having a family party for my boys' birthdays this weekend. They turn 12 and 14 in March. I'll be making some yummy new recipes I found from Pinterest. I'll share them here if they turn out as good as I'm hoping!

We found Rebecca's prom dress! After much searching she found one she's really happy with. I don't know who was more relieved she found one - me or her! Here is a picture of it.
Now that I can check that off my list it's on to other things.
I got a big box of new stamping toys. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I hope to get the chance sometime this week. I have the final card from this month's stamp club. It is a a case of a card by Karen Barber. She is one talented stamper! The label dies are layered and the edges are roughed up with the distressing tool. I cut two of the larger labels and cut one down in roughly the same shape as the smaller one. I roughed up the edges so it didn't matter if it was cut perfect. Close was good enough! The edges are also sponged with crumb cake ink and tiny pearls are added to some of the middles of the flowers.
The ribbon is the vanilla seam binding. Just spritz the ribbon with water and crumple it up in your hand. Let it air dry or speed the process up with your heat gun. The stamp set is Apothecary Art. It matches the labels die!

My daughter and I went prom dress shopping on Monday. Our first stop was at a store about 30 minutes from our house called Opitz. It's a discount designer brands store and we heard they had prom dresses. What they had was one small little rack of full length prom dresses. She tried about 6 on but no luck. We decided to head to a consignment store I had heard about that turns 1/2 their store into prom dresses at this time of year. This store was another 1/2 hour away. We set off for the store,with the help of our navigational device, hoping for better luck. We finally locate the store in a strip mall. We can see the window display as we pull into the parking lot and we start to get excited. It looks promising! As we locate a parking spot, suddenly the lights turn out in the store. They are closed! It was like letting the air out of a balloon. We were suddenly deflated.
We start making our way back home(about an hour away now). On our way home Rebecca talks me into going to a mall to look at a store she's heard about. Again, this store is not close. As we pull into the parking lot, I get a phone call from Sam. He's home alone and he's scared. I tell him we will come right home. Another missed opportunity. All of this running around and we barely got to see any dresses. So the hunt for the perfect prom dress is still on.

I used the new blossom punch that coordinates with the Mixed Bunch stamp set. I grow to love this stamp set more every time I use it!

He's 12 today. Already he's told me can't wait until he's 13. I told him not to rush it. I'm in no hurry for him to get older. I'm enjoying him at the age he is. He's beyond excited today. He got a kindle fire for his birthday and he's been chomping at the bit to give it a go. It's been sitting in a box in my bedroom for 5 days and he knows it. I let him open it up to charge it(his idea) so it's ready to go today.
He's having his friends' party on Friday. These are the invitations I made for it. I tried real hard to stay away from using girly stuff. I thought I might be pushing it with the button but I got the go ahead from Sam.

The kids got a 2 hour late start day yesterday because of the weather. Lucky ducks! I could have used a couple extra hours in my day. It seems we're always running. I bet you can relate. We finished our taxes! This is early for us but we needed to make deadlines for Financial aid for my daughter who's going off to college next year.(sniff!). Yep, the same one with the attitude. It comes and goes and she can really be a sweet girl. It's that whole establishing independence thing.
Tonight I have stamp club. Yipee! I love my stamp club girls! This is a sneak peek of one of the cards they will be making tonight.
I got the idea for the flower from Tessa Wise. I punched out a bunch of scallop circles out of tissue paper and then stamped them with black ink with the Fresh vintage Sale-a-bration stamp set. Then I stacked them together, poked one of fun Sale-a-bration brads through the middle and squished the petals up around the brad. Easy peasy! I felt it needed something so I added the blossom flower punch behind it in Island Indigo. The designer paper is a Sale-a-bration item too.
