Retiring Accessories List

Stampin' Up! has announced their retiring accessories list.  These items are while supplies last and some of them are discounted up to 70 percent off!.  See the list here.

You will see the entire list of ink pads on the list.  Don't panic!  The colors aren't all being retired. Stampin' Up! is coming out with a new and improved firm foam stamp pad for all of the inks.

Another Smooch

Have you tired of the Summer Smooches yet?  I hope not because I have another one to share.  I wanted to incorporate a kind of ruffle with black cardtock on my card so that's where I started. I loosened the fibers with my bone folder but the ruffle was too stiff.  So I loosened the fibers some more until I could peel apart the cardstock into 2 pieces revealing the inside part of the cardstock.  This made it lighter and it has the faux suede look.  Then it was much easier to fold into ruffles.  I place a piece of sticky strip across the card to adhere the ruffles.

The ribbon is the wide Marina mist striped ribbon cut in half.  The greeting is from Curly Cute.  Love this greeting! The embossed paper is actually neutrals desinger paper.   I ran this through my dots embossing folder.  It's a subtle pattern but it adds a little depth. The main circle scallop is popped up on two stacks of dimensionals at the top part of the circle to balance off the bulk of the ruffle/ribbon at the bottom of the circle.

Are you weeping at all of the stamp sets retiring?  Don't be!  Grab what you can't live without and know that there are better things around the corner in the brand new Stampin' Up! catalog coming out June 1.  I can't wait!

Hundreds of stamps and accessories from the 2011-2012 catalogs are retiring, and this is your and your customers' chance to get them before they're gone. Many products are only available while supplies last, so be sure to get your orders in early!

When you view the retiring stamps list, you may notice it's longer than in years past. During this transition to the new annual catalog, there are a higher number of stamps being refreshed and replaced than usual. While many stamps are going away, most are being replaced so that the breadth of our stamp lines is every bit as broad as ever!

Mary Fish has a tutorial on how to make this simple bookmark. I love how she incorporated it into a card design so I created my own using the Summer Smooches products.

This weekend is filled with hockey, gymnastics, and soccer.  My husband is in a hockey tournament and they have won all 4 games so far! They have the championship game this afternoon. Go Admirals! My son, Nick,  plays in a soccer scrimmage tonight and Sam has gymnastics practice early afternoon.  I'm a spectator for all of it.  Whew!

Baby card

I was in a swap recently with my Wow swap group and received an adorable baby card made my Lori Mueller. This is my slightly revised version of her card that we made at stamp club.

Just some simply coloring with markers on the baby and stork.  It is outlined with the Sahara Sand marker to give it some depth. 

Recipe: Stamps: Bringing Baby(single stamp) Pennant parade

Ink: Jetblack Stazon, Regal Rose Basic black. Stampin' Write markers-pumpkin pie, regal rose, blush blossom, sahara sand

Paper: Regal Rose, Whisper white, Pink Pirouete, Pear Pizazz

Other:  Labels sizzis framelits, punch trio pack, boho blossom punch, petite pennant builder punch, pearls, soft subtle brads

There you have it!  A special baby card for a special baby.

Cupcakes!

Happy Easter-almost!  I'll be making those yummy chocolate chip cookie, oreos, brownie bars for my family's gathering tomorrow.  I have shared it with my husband's side of the family but my side of the family hasn't had the pleasure yet.  My side are total sweet addicts too.  They are going to loooooove it!

I had stamp club Thursday night.  Beth was our hostess and she brought some lovely treats.  There was this fruit pizza.

And these adorable bunny cake pops!  So cute and yummy!

I have made no secret of my love of cupcakes.  More to look at than to eat.  I found this adorable card by Linda Aarhus. I used some different pucnhes to create the cupcake and mounted them on the scallop circle. I added a little decoration on the inside which you can see peeking through the card.

This satisfied my eye candy sweet tooth! Hah! The designer paper is from the Occasions mini catalog called Sweet shop.  The cupcake paper and the embossed heart paper the cupcakes are on are both from this adorable paper pack.  But hurry!  It's only available through the end of this month.  You can order it through my online website here.

Spring has Sprung!

Happy Spring!  We are enjoying an early Spring here in Minnesota.  It's more like May or June weather here. The grass is fully green and we even had to mow already.  That is unheard of here! 

We took a family vacation to Orlando last week. We did several days at Disney Parks, Universal Studios Islands of Adventure and a day at the beach.  Such a fun time!  It was expensive and my husband asked if it was worth it.  Absolutely!  Vacations refresh you and give you renewed energy to continue on with life.  Life is so dang busy it's good to take a break and re-charge the batteries.  Here is some of re-charging we did.

At Clearwater Beach.  Nick was running around chasing seagulls and feeding them his leftover ice cream cone.

Yes, there was a little bit of this going on.  My family can't completely unplug.

And this.  Reconnecting as a family. Our lives takes us in so many different directions it was great to spend time and enjoy each other!
