Gorgeous Flowers

Isn't this card gorgeous? It is a CASE from a card I saw on Pinterest by Natasha Zandbergen.  We made this in stamp club earlier this April.

Recipe: Stamps: Field Flowers, French Script background stamp

Ink: Eggplant Envy, Perfect Plum, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake

Paper: Very Vanilla, Crumb cake

Other: Square lattice embossing folder, Honeycomb embossing folder, natural trim ribbon(LOVE this ribbon! It ties easily and adds such nice texture to your cards - works great for masculine or feminine cards!), small oval punch, stampin' dimensionals, Labels collection framelits, stampin' sponges

 

The stamp and scrap sale was great last weekend!  The weather was beautiful and we had lots of shoppers.  But we still have so much stuff left over we may do it again this Saturday.  Stay tuned to my blog for more information.

Stamp club challenge cards

My monthly stamp club likes to participate in a card swap with each other.  Lately, I have been giving them some sketch and/or color challenges.  For April I gave them this sketch to work with.

Didn't they do an awesome job?! I love how different each one is but they all started with the same basic sketch.  I'm trying to teach them the value of starting with a sketch.  If you haven't tried this before I highly recommend it.  Do you ever have those days when you stare blankly at your table wondering where to begin with your creating?  A card sketch is a great starting point!  I have often said, give me a good sketch and a color combination and the card practically makes itself!

I hope you enjoyed these cards.  I'm so proud of my stamp clubbers!

Dress form

This quik and easy card is a CASE from some cards I saw on Pinterest(no surprise!).  The dress from is made of crumb cake card stock stamped with the smallest stamp from the Daydreams Medallions stamp set.  The flowers are stamped on white card stock in crumb cake with the Fabulous Florets stamp set.  The birthday greeting is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set and is stamped with Early Espresso ink.

I'm getting ready for my Annual Stamp and Scrap Sale.  it is coming up on Saturday, April 27.  I will post details in a few days for those of you local to the Twin Cities area of Minnesota.

COLOR REFRESH!!!

There is so much going on with Stampin' Up! right now!  The big news is that Stampin' Up! is doing a COLOR REFRESH this year! 

 

Every 3-5 years Stampin' Up! will do a color refresh of some of their colors to keep the colors on trend.  This year there will be 10 new colors, mostly former in colors being added to the regular color lineup.  There is also one never before seen new color, Smoky Slate as well!       That means that there are 10 colors retiring as well.

The 10 new colors are :

Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Wisteria Wonder,Pear Pizazz, Blushing Bride,Crushed Curry and the brand new Smoky Slate.

The retiring colors are available only while supplies last and all will be unavailable after May 31.  Not Quite Navy cardstock is already sold out so if there are other colors you want to stock up on you should get to that right away!

Butterflies

What did we ever do before Pinterest?  So many great ideas and inspiration!  If you are not on Pinterest you gotta get on it!  But beware, it will suck you in! 

This card is a CASE of this card I found on Pinterest. I changed the colors and papers and came up with this card.

Recipe: Stamps: Fabulous Phrases

Ink: JetBlack Stazon

Paper: Whisper White, Summer Smooches designer paper, Rich Razzleberry

Other: Beautiful Butterflies Bigz die, flower trim,vanilla ribbon

And this is the version we made in stamp club this month:

I changed the papers and colors again and used the small soda pop tops from the Spring catalog for the middle of the flower.  The designer paper is from the Print Poetry paper pack from the Spring catalalog as well.
