Special Birthday

We celebrated a birthday for my friend, Kathy, a couple of weeks ago.  We have a group of us that get together to play Bingo at the Casino during our birthday week.  A couple of us have won big during Bingo on our birthday week!  No such luck for Kathy. :(    We all had fun though!

I fired up my new coffee stamp set to make the card.  I love this set even though I'm not a coffee drinker myself! The polka dots designer paper is from a retired Halloween paper pack from last year.  I love me some polka dots!

We moved my daughter, Rebecca, back for her second year of college yesterday.  It was a hot and sticky day for moving but we got her all settled in and she looked pretty content when we left. There's a lot less to be nervous about in your second year of college.

Here she is all packed up and ready to go!  Yes, that's me peeking out from the other side of the van.

Now, it's time to get the boys all ready for school.  Nick had his orientation for high school today and his first Junior Varsity soccer game tomorrow.

Sam has his orientation tomorrow and they both head back to school the day after Labor Day.  Summer just flew by!

Mosaic on the side

I was playing around with ideas for a Stampin' Up! party and came up with this simple card. I probably at least partially cased it because I looked at so many cards online. I went for a walk this morning. It's a beautiful day and I was surprised I didn't encounter more people outside.  It's the dog days of Summer in Minnesota and we have to snatch these nice warm sunny days while we can.  Even still, I will be spending part of this lovely day in my stamp room.  That always brings me sunshine!

My hubby and I went to see my niece and nephew play music at a wine bar in their hometown, New Prague, MN on Saturday night.  They play music with just 2 guitars, an amp and their voices.  Just pure raw music and it was amazing!  We met some fun people too!

Lion Swaps

This was one of my swap cards at convention for the anything new card swap.  Once again, I used the new Zoo Babies stamp set.  The color combination is Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, whisper white,and Early Espresso.

I used the new Alphabet Press embossing folder for the background, and the labels framelits with coordinating Festive paper piercing pack.

The new Holiday catalog from Stampin' Up! went live on Thursday, August 1.  There are so many fun new projects in there!  If you are a techie and have a smart phone there is a new feature where you can scan the pages with the interactive icon and watch a video using that product.  Genius! 

To use this feature go to your apps store on your smart phone and download the layar app.  Once you have this loaded, place it over any page with the interactive icon and scan it.  It will pop up a video on that product.  Don't have a smart phone?  You can view all of the videos here.
