Flipping for the Thinlit dies!

I LOVE the new thinlit card dies!  They cut and score a flip card all in one!  We made this soda card in my last stamp club.  You really need to see the card in action to fully appreciate it.  The base is Island Indigo cardstock and the patterned paper is from the Quatrefancy designer paper pack.  The stamp set is Cycle Celebration.

Halloween Pop up

I'm a big fan of Halloween! I love the colors, the whimsy and the fun!  I had my first stamp club meeting at my house since our hiatus over the Summer.  I had them make this fun Halloween Pop Up card with the Stampin' Up! Sizzix Pop-n-cuts.  You cut the base with a die and then place an insert for the inside pop up.  It is intimidating at first but I made 30 pop up cards for convention swaps this Summer and once you get the hang of it they go together pretty easily.

The front of the card is decorated with basic grey cardstock embossed with the chevron embossing folder and the Halloween washi tape.  See how the card tucks in to the slits?  That's all part of the pop up card and it works great for keeping the card closed.

The pop up is the dress form.  I decorated it with the dress up framelits and the Halloween paper to make a fun witches dress.  The mirror is made with the oval framelits and silver glitter paper and the label framelits for the frame of the mirror.  The oval I used extends beyond the frame on the bottom but you can't tell because it is tucked behind the dress.  The hat stand is made with the legs of the dress form and the witches hat is the large oval punch and the pennants punch.  This is a card for a special someone who will appreciate it and loves Halloween too!

We've got everything you want and things you have not yet imagined. The vintage
tablecloths are flapping in the September breeze while Santa and Frosty look
on.  Looking for hardware to finish your project? We have it. Need a Hoosier
cabinet,a hutch a night stand, a rug or a potting table? We have those, too.
There will be Stampin' Up supplies, handmade cards and Americana folk art. We've
got curios and curiosities and so much more. Check out our vintage glass
ornaments, spooky decorations and old suitcases.

Polka dots and butterflies

Did the kids all get safely off to school?  I now have one in college, one in high school and one in middle school.  Nick, my high schooler started his first day off by oversleeping.  I woke him up 10 minutes before he had to catch the bus.  Surprisingly he made it to the bus stop.  My middle schooler is dreading his second day of school because in 2 classes he has to get up in front of the class and share some personal stuff.  He says people make fun of you about your stuff.  Ah middle school.  It's brutal.  I feel bad for him.  I wouldn't go back to middle school for anything!

I finally have a card to share with you.  This is a departure from my style.  These subtle colors didn't photograph well.  I have seen some amazing photos of these kinds of cards but my photography skills aren't quite up to it. 

For the polka dot paper I used a piece of designer paper from the Season of Style paper stack from the Holiday catalog. I cut the paper the whole size of the card front and attached it to crumb cake cardstock.
