Bunny card

This card features a stamp set called, Baby We've Grown, from the Occasions catalog. I stamped it on watercolor paper and colored it in with markers and the aquapainter.  The designer paper is the Etcera paper from the main catalog.

Crazy weather around the country this week.  I know some of you in warmer states had snow, ice and colder weather than you are accustomed to.  Here in Minnesota we have had more cold days than we usually get.  My kids finally went back to school yesterday.  Their schools were closed Monday and Tuesday due to the dangerously below zero temps of 16 and 20 below.  We have something here called wind chill that brings the temps down to feeling like 40 below.  This isn't weather anyone enjoys.  I hope everyone is safe and warm and the kiddos are back in school!

We are celebrating my daughter's 20th birthday this weekend.  I'm stumped on what to get her this year. I'd like to surprise her but I'm sure there are plenty of things she needs/wants because she is a poor college student(I have to keep reminding her of that sometimes).

Birthday flags

Here is another little sneak peek at some Sale-a-bration product.  The embossing folder, designer paper, and stamp set are all product you can get for FREE with $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration.  Sale-a-bration runs January 28-March 31.  I will post the catalog on the sidebar of my website when it goes live on January 28.

I had a couple of my nieces over tonight.  They are 6 and 8 years old.  They brought over these barbie-ish dolls called Monster High dolls.  They are all about these dolls and their paraphernalia. It was fun to be around young kids where these little toys make them happy.  My teenage boys are all about the expensive electronic toys.  Gone are the days of actual toys.  I lamented those days when their mess was everywhere in the house but now I kind of miss those days. 

As for me, my stamping toys make me happy.  Being creative and making something pretty in my craft room is very satisfying.  I hope you enjoy the fruits of my labor.

I have a thing for owls.  So many cute images of them.  This is a new one from the Stampin' Up! We had a nice dinner out with my co-workers and bosses for a belated holiday party last night.  I work for an embroidery company.  There are only about 12 employees.  Good thing I like them all!  The weekends go too fast.  Now it's back to work and back to the below zero temps here in Minnesota.

I disappeared for awhile! I was just busy with family, the holidays, and life.  You all know how it goes.  We hosted my husband's family for Christmas Eve.  There were 17 of us.  That was a mere warm-up for the next day when we hosted my family.  There were 57 of us.  Here is a shot of the shoes.I have always wanted to take a shot of the shoes at our gatherings.  This year my husband remembered to!

And here is where we had all of the tables set up for everyone to eat. Thank goodness I have a big open basement.  We have been hosting gatherings for our families for years but this is the most we have ever entertained at once.

Everything went smoothly and we had a great time!  This year was bittersweet.  This will be our last year hosting.  We are moving to Austin, Texas at the end of the school year.  Every one of my nine brothers and sisters came with their spouses and a good number of my nieces and nephews and even great nieces and nephews came as well.

I have been doing some stamping.  I just haven't had time to blog about it.  I'm going to start you out with a card we made in stamp club this month.  This first version uses washi tape for the banner.  I saw this idea on Pinterest and it looked pretty easy.

It turns out it wasn't so easy.  So I came up with a different version using the pennants punch.  I just punched a smaller triangle at the end of the punch and layed them out side by side.  I didn't even need to lay bakers twine across for them to hang from.  This was much easier but still festive and cute!
