Cup of cuteness!

 We bought a house!  It's in Round Rock, Texas and it is the house we were in a bidding war on. I didn't expect to get that one but we did and we are thrilled!  Now we have to press forward with getting our house in Minnesota ready for sale.

Today I have men working on cement work at the front of my house.  They are replacing our sidewalk, and the driveway apron.  My neighbor is prepping my deck to paint it.  I am home alone and feel kind of vulnerable.  KWIM?  All of this is needed to get our house up for sale but it feels weird.  Like I'm trapped in my own home.  Oh well.  I'm going about my business - working out, de-cluttering my closet, etc. The move is getting closer. 

In the meantime I have a card I have been meaning to share with you for awhile.  We made this card in stamp club in early May.

For cute, right?!  I know we women overuse the word "cute" but no other word describes the cards we make.  I borrowed the whip cream and straw idea from a card by Melissa Davies on Stampin' Connection( a website for Stampin' Up! demonstrators only).  The whip cream is made with the cupcake builder punch and the straw is a tiny piece cut from the red and white striped paper from my fave paper pack, Fresh Prints, from the Occasions catalog.  Get it while you can!  It's available through June 1.  The other designer paper that I LOVE and used on this card is the Retro Fresh designer paper.  It is only available in the Occcasions catalog and through June 1 as well.  You can order them and all other supplies on my website at http://myhappystampingplace.stampinup.net

We've survived an excruciating winter and a soggy spring. So it's time to celebrate by coming back to the barn where we've been unearthing treasures and repurposing tired objects. We have tables of every size and shape. We have chairs of wood and wicker and even metal. We have taken funky old containers such as gas cans and picnic coolers and turned them into lamps. We have picnic tables complete with everything you need for a picnic -- you just bring the food. We have roosters in metal, wood and ceramic and they are scratching their way across table cloths, salt and pepper shakers and even a paper towel holder. Stampers, you're in luck because we have Stampin' Up supplies and hand-stamped cards.  If you're focused on the garden, and who isn't after this rain, find our garden treasures scattered around the barn and beyond. We've got bird baths made from old lamps and enamel pans. We've got watering cans and benches and footstools. We also have tiny treasures that are worth searching out. So bring your picker's eye and check us out at 310 Wayside Road W., Hopkins. The sale goes on rain or shine, but we're definitely crossing our fingers for shine.

Lovely Butterflies

I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Texas to look at potential houses to buy.  My husband, Doug, has been living in Austin since late September and there were some I needed to see.  We narrowed it down to one house.  It needs a lot of remodeling but my husband is handy so that isn't really a problem.  Late yesterday afternoon we wrote the earnest check out and I hopped into the shower before Doug and I went out to dinner. While I was in the shower our realtor called to say there was a house that JUST came on the market and we HAD to see it before we left town the next morning.  So I threw on some clothes and we met the realtor at the house.  It has a similiar floor plan to the house we wrote the earnest check for but it didn't need the upgrades the other house did, it has a pool in the backyard, and other really nice features.  We decided to make a bid on this house instead so we wrote another check out.  Now it appears as if we may be in a bidding war.  Crazy!  So I'm not sure which house we will end up with.  We may end up going back to the one that needs remodeling.  It has been kind of a crazy adventure trying to find a house that meets our needs.

Through all of this house move I have been trying to keep up with my stamping too.  I don't want to stop!  So I'm going to continue on with my clubs, stamping and open house right up to the very end.  We will be moving from Minnesota to Texas sometime this Summer.  I even signed up for the Stampin' Up! convention in July.

Here is a project we made in my stamp club in April.  The card box is made using the envelope punch board.  Here is a video tutorial  on how to make it.

You can fit 4 cards and envelopes in the box.  4 cards that have a lot of dimension that is.  You can fit more cards in if they don't have a lot of dimension.

Here is a link to a cool trick on how to make the butterflies look like they are partially attached to the circle.

The box is held closed by a belly band.  It is simple a piece of cardstock with the burlap wrapped around it and embellished that slides over the box.  Here is the whole set together:

New Alcohol markers!

I am so very excited to share with you that Stampin' Up! will be carrying alcohol markers in the new catalog that comes out June 1!!! I have been waiting years for these.  Alcohol markers go on smooth with no marker lines and give you vibrant color on your line images.  I just received my sneak peek markers today and they did not disappoint! 

Here is a quick card that I made with them.

I used the Old Olive, Coastal Cabana, Neutral and Daffodil Delight alcohol markers.  They come in 3 tones so you can get shading and different tones of the same color.  They are very user friendly and so much fun to color with!  I can't wait to try them out on other line images.

Gift card holders

We wrapped up our Stamp and Scrap sale on Saturday.  We moved a lot of product in the sale!  Thanks to everyone who came and shopped.  I invite my customers to bring their stuff to sell as well.  I give them a gift card for the amount they sell.  I like to present it in something cute.  These gift card holders are quick and easy!
