2 Hearts

This is a card I made for an organized swap at convention.  I used the new Groovy Love stamp set with the new coordinating heart punch. We have black and white bakers twine now!  Yeah!  The hearts are stamped in Melon Mambo ink, the card base is basic black with a tempting turquoise card front.

I arrived back in Texas on Sunday afternoon about 4:00.  I spent 5 hours unpacking my temporary craft room.  I came back inspired after convention and want to get at my stuff.  But I have 60 boxes to unpack!  I got through 75 percent of it and then ran out of steam.  I haven't found all of my cardstock and punches.  And my tub of purses.  I know they aren't stamping tools but purses are essential to me too.  These are important things people! 

I had 3 unpackers from a service come over to help me do more unpacking yesterday.  They were amazed at what I had alread unpacked by myself in just a day and a half!  It helped a lot to have them here helping.  We are getting there.  There are things that don't fit the same way in this house as they did in our house in Minnesota.  We will need to figure that out over time and perhaps do some more decluttering.  In other words, I have too much stuff! 

I did some healthy food shopping yesterday at Whole Foods and Trader Joes.  It has been an adventure trying to find where things are on unfamiliar roads.  The Whole Foods, Trader Joes and Costco aren't very convenient to my house but they are all close to each other so I will have to plan my trips to incorporate all 3 in one trip.

Convention fun!!!

I'm having a blast at convention with my friend and downline, Kelly! This is about our 5th convention together and it doesn't get old. On our first day Becky Higgins, creator of Project Life came on stage with our founder, Shelli and talked about the product line. I'm excited to try this simplified version of scrapbooking. Today is our last day. I fly back to Texas tomorrow. It is always mixed feelings towards the end of convention. There is the excitement of new product and new ideas and the exhaustion that sets in. This was one of the make-n-takes at my last Open House in Minnesota. We used a new stamp set and some new In colors. The stamp set comes with a new coordinating Sweetheart punch so you will want to get that too!

We safely made the move to Texas on Monday night. Our plane didn't get in until 8 pm.  We stopped at Target to get pillows and blankets because we will be sleeping on air mattresses for another week until the moving van gets here with our stuff.  Three cart fulls later we walked out $500 poorer!  Then it was off to the house.  Nick and Sam were anxious to see it because they had only seen pictures and video of it.  And they wanted to meet our new dog, Eddie and get reacquainted with our cat, Lucy.  So much to look forward to!

The boys LOVE the house and the dog!  We spent a full day Tuesday swimming in the pool.  We kept pinching ourselves and reminding ourselves how lucky we are to have a pool and a nice house to live in! It's a little lonely not knowing anyone here yet but that will come with time.

One side effect of the move is that our boys, Nick, 16 and Sam, 14 are spending more time together than they have in years.  Bonus!  Here is a pic of them hanging in the pool together.

It does a momma's heart proud to see them enjoying each other again.

The moving truck showed up at our house yesterday and loaded all of our belongings.

The trucker showed up at 7:40 am and my kids were all still asleep in the upstairs bedrooms.  The noise of the movers woke my son Nick and Becca up. Poor Becca was trying to shower and get ready for work while 5 strapping guys were starting to load up the truck.  They loaded all of the items from the upstairs bedrooms.  The only thing left upstairs to move was Sam's bed but he was still sleeping in it!  Yep, he slept through the movers coming in to his room and moving all of his stuff out.  I finally woke him up at 9:00 to tell him he needed to get out of his bed so the movers could move it!  Hah! 

We needed to be around for the movers but we also needed to stay out of their way.  So we started a fire in the backyard fire pit and this is where we hung out.

Now we are left with the debris of what's left, some air mattresses and our suitcases to take with us on the plane.  We probably won't be reunited with our stuff until about July 14.  We will be hanging out in a big empty house in Texas for awhile.  Oh well.  At least we have a pool to swim in down there.

Graduation

Isn't this graduation gift card holder adorable?  I can't take credit I saw this on Pinterest by LeeAnn Greff. It is made with punches and the the sunburst framelits.  This is going to be a belated graduation present to my nephew, Daniel.  He is off to college in the fall at University of Minnesota going into Food Science.  His parents are very proud.

We have the movers here today.  They are boxing everything up around us.  It took 60 boxes to box up my craft room!  The movers said they have never seen such a big craft room!  The trucks come to take it all away tomorrow.  Then we will be left staring at each other in an empty house wondering what hit us.  It's kind of scary not knowing exactly when you will be reunited with your stuff and if you will ever find it again among all of the boxes.  Thanks for stopping by today!
