Hi stampers! I hope you have been having a fabulous Summer! I know I have! We made an almost 2 week visit to Minnesota in late June/early July. We packed in all kinds of activities and saw as many people as possible. We all had a blast and the weather was fabulous!
Since our return we have had a visit from my sister, Peg and my niece, Katie. My son, Nick's friend, Erik, is just finishing up a visit and left this morning. Then I leave for the Stampin' Up! convention this Wednesday. July has just been a whirlwind! I have been working on a few card swaps and some convention roommate gifts. I will be sharing those with you over the next days and weeks. It has felt so great to get crafty again!
Now onto a card that I made that uses a technique called Zentangling. There is an excellent tutorial by Lydia Fiedler(Austin, Texas native!) on Splitcoaststampers here. My friend,Melanie, showed some of us how to do this at a get together at her house. I also saw Lydia show this technique at convention(was it just last year?). Anyhow, it is not hard to do. You could sit down with a pile of images and just doodle away while you are watching tv. It's a fun and different technique. Here is my zentangling card.
This is a technique that looks difficult but isn't. I challenge you to give it a try! Just start with an image that has a lot of white space like this flower stamp, Blended Bloom. And when you put it on your card or other project remember to let this be your focal point by keeping the rest of your card pretty simple.
Thanks for stopping by today! I know it's been awhile. Thanks for sticking with me!
Kathleen
