Owl Birthday

The Holiday catalog goes live on September 1.  Just a few short days away!  Do you want another sneak peek from this catalog?  Of course you do!  I haven't gotten around to making holiday cards with the sets yet.  Instead I have been working on birthday cards using Christmas and Halloween sets.  There is a darling owl in the new stamp set, Howl-o-ween Treat.  We all know owls can be used for much more than Halloween.  Here is a card with that owl and a birthday theme.

I actually combined 3 stamp sets to make this.  You can see them listed below.  I just used the designer paper as my guide for the color scheme.  I love how this makes a card come together and color coordinate beautifully! And there is a framelit set that cuts out that owl with your Big Shot and the rest of the stamp set as well!  Love it!!!

My sons started their first days of 10th and 12th grade this past Tuesday.  My daughter starts her senior year of college on Monday.  I have two seniors!  She will be student teaching this year starting Monday.  She seems to really be liking the elementary education field.  I know this year will fly by for her!

Happy Birthday Penguin

I'll be making Christmas cards with this set real soon.  Maybe sooner than you would like but a girl has to play with new stuff!  I have fun new Halloween stuff too.  Is it too early for you for that?  Well, I may do the same thing with some of my Halloween and make it into birthday or baby or some other occasion first.

We are in the last minute back to school stuff mode in our house right now.  I took both boys to the dentist this week and Nick has a cavity.  Boo!  Luckily, I was able to sneak in another appointment to get that taken care of before school starts.  They both get physicals the day before school starts.  Talk about cutting it close!  School starts Tuesday, August 25 here.  I know some kids have started back to school already.  Yikes!

Last Swap Card

This was my final swap card for Convention.  I'm always drawn to frogs because of my last name(Hopperstad).  I also like to color so this one was very fun for me.  I made more of these cards for swapping than any other.  The ribbon is delicious!  If you don't have any of it, be sure to put some on your next order.  It's gorgeous and ties easily.  Reasonable price too!  What more could you ask for in a ribbon?

Convention ended at lunchtime on Saturday.  Our flight wasn't until the next day so we rented a car and headed to the mountains!  I have been to so many conventions in Salt Lake City but never ventured out of the city before.  I never allowed myself the extra time to explore.  I'm so glad I did!  Charlotte, Melanie, and I had a great time lunching at the Canyons Resort in Park City, Utah.  It was a mere 30 minute drive from Salt Lake city.  We rode the gondola up the mountain, had lunch at one of the restaurants and went for a hike.  It was a beautiful sunny day.  I'm not a skier but I'm sure the vibe is a lot different in the Summer versus the Winter.  There were a bunch of mountain bikers riding the gondolas up and doing jumps and riding down the mountain.  Adrenaline junkies for sure!  I'm sure my son, Nick, would have loved it!

Here is Charlotte and I riding up the mountain.  And here is Melanie and Charlotte riding up.

We hiked by this lake.  They called it a lake but we called it a pond.  Still beautiful though.

Even More Stampin' Up! Convention 2015!

I have even more fun Stampin' Up! convention pics and projects and stuff to share with you!  After Awards night there was a 20's theme party for us all.  You could dress up in 20's attire if you wanted to.  There was a band playing old music and teaching the Charleston, etc.  There were treats, and photo ops.  Here is a pic of Charlotte, Melanie, and I in this old time car.

In the Friday session of convention they handed out the new archival black ink pads.  These are the ink pads we have been waiting for!  They stamp really bold and they don't smear!

On the final General Session I received a prize patrol.

It's a stamp set from the upcoming Holiday catalog!  Everyone also received a pack of the absolutely fabulous designer paper pack, Season of Cheer, from the upcoming Holiday mini as well.

I have been back over a week from convention.  I have placed a pre-order from the Holiday catalog and the official pre-order this week.  I have no restraint when it comes to Stampin' Up! product!  :)  Good thing I get it at a discount.  The catalog goes live for all customers in September.  In the meantime, I will be sharing projects made with product from this upcoming catalog throughout August.
