Lots to Love!

I sure do love this bundle of framelits and stamps!  You get a lot of bang for your buck with these framelits because they make a box, and die cut many of the shapes in the Sure Do Love You stamp set.  This set isn't just for Valentine's day!  Love is in style all year long!

I used the Sale-a-bration designer paper as my color inspiration and the cards and box came together very easily from there! I used the new Whisper White narrow note cards and envelopes.  It is so fun to work with a new size of card!

Gift packaging with gusseted cello bags

I want to share with you this video that Stampin' Up! posted on the large gusseted cello bags in the Holiday catalog.  They are large enough to fit a wine bottle in or even two.  But they can be used for so much more! Penguin Box

I had my first stamping party in Texas this past weekend!  I am so excited to get my business going here!!!  A big thank you to the hostess, Mireya!  I made this penguin box for her and filled it with stamping goodies as a thank you to her for hosting.

 

 

This was the packaging for the hostess gift Mireya received at her party last Saturday. I stamped the circle from Work of Art stamp set in white craft ink all over the kraft box. The Bermuda Bay wide striped ribbon was wrapped around and tied in a bow. I hung the penguin tag with linen thread from the ribbon bow. The penguin is from the Snow Place stamp set. There is a coordinating Framelit set for the Big Shot for this stamp set called, "Snow Friends". All products can be ordered on my website here: http://myhappystampingplace.stampinup.net

Stampin' Up! Convention 2015

I'm back from the Stampin' Up! Convention.  I had a blast and learned so much.  I have a lot to share with you so I will spread it out over several posts.  The Convention started out a little slow but picked up steam the 2nd day and quickly became the fun and information packed event I have come to know and love!

Here is a picture of the stage.  They always do a fabulous job on this design!

I had two ladies I met in Texas adopt me in their group and I roomed and hung out with them at convention.  Thanks to Melanie and Charlotte for inviting me to convention!  I made them roommate gifts to show my appreciation. 

We all get the same bag from Stampin' Up! when we check in.  I thought it would be helpful for us all to have our own unique bag tag to identify our bags from the rest.

These are mint containers I decorated with the Flower Patch stamp set, item#134207, $26.00 and the coordinating Flower Fair Framelits, item#133731, $25.00.  You can bundle them together and save 15%! Just use item#136788, $43.25 for both.

EOS lipbalm is the middle of the flower.  I used the Floral Frames Collection Framelits for the flowers, item#127012, $27.00.  I used the leaf from the Flower Fair framelits from above.  Attach with glue dots to a fun striped straw, emboss the flower with one of your embossing folders and you have this fun and easy project!

Here are their gifts all together.  I color coordinated the ink and cardstock so they all went together as a set.  I used Soft Sky, So Saffron and Watermelon Wonder inks and cardstock.  I used Old Olive for the leaves.

Graduation Money Holder

Hi, I'm back!  I have more graduation cards to share with you.  Most people give gift cards or money for graduation presents.  For that reason it is good to have a pocket inside the card to hold it.  This next card is created to hold some bills.  You can get the measurements and tutorial for the base card here.

You can make a matching envelope to fit the card with the envelope punch board.  Pretty easy! The graduation cap is made with the 1" square punch.  I cut strips in a piece of the daffodil delight seam binding ribbon to get the tassle and attached it with a silver brad.

We don't have any big graduations this year but we will have a bunch next year!  Next year my son, Nick, graduates from high school and my daughter graduates from college.  Scary!  And they have 2 cousins graduating from high school and of course a bunch of friends graduating too.  I better get a jump on making cards for all of them.  It's not too early to get started!

I got a box of new stamping goodies last night.  I'm going to be finishing up the cards for a class I'm teaching in Minnesota on June 28.  We will be making 4 cards with new stamps, inks, papers, and accessories from the the new catalog!  Here are the details:

Craft Fair items

Hello!  Is everyone bustling around getting ready for Christmas?  I have a few craft fair items I made for a Vendor fair I did earlier in December.  They could make good last minute Christmas gifts as well.  

This first one, I copied from a pin I saw on Pinterest.  I didn't end up selling any of these because I didn't have them done until the end of the sale.  Hah!  I was prepping them as I was sitting there with my son, Sam.  Sam was there to keep me company in my booth as well as to help me take everything down and haul it out to my van.  Sam brought some fundraiser candybars for his Business club.  I think he did better than I did!  Hey, chocolate sells!  Especially at a buck a bar. Anyway, on to the first project.  These are hershey nugget chocolates wrapped in designer paper.  They are placed in a cello and the tag was made out of the owl punch.

 

Next up is a project I came up with.  There are a lot of snowman soup ideas floating around.  I wanted to make one out of the Stampin' Up! Sizzix Fry box.  Here is what I made:

I found the regular whisper white cardstock didn't work well.  It was too flimsy so I used White confetti cardstock.  It worked great!  The mouth is made from the smallest circle on the owl punch, the nose from the point on the pennant punch and the eyes are the bigger circle of the owl punch.  I highlighted the eyes with the uniball white gel pen.  These are placed in the Stampin' Up! gusseted cello bags.  I placed a cocoa packet, marshmallows and a candy cane inside.

Pop Up Gift Card Holders

Hello?  Is anyone out there?  It has been awhile since I have blogged.  I've been busy with lots of things.  One of those things is a Vendor fair coming up in early December.  This will be my first event where I am representing my Stampin' Up! business to potential new customers so I am excited and nervous!  I have been working hard on the pop up gift card holders:

These are fun to make!  You can find the tutorial by Kim Score on how to make these here.  I used retired Christmas and Holiday paper from last year and a couple of retired stamp sets.  The papers all go together to make a coordinated looking card when you use Stampin' Up! designer paper packs and the coordinating inks and cardstock. Which one is your favorite?  I hope they go over well at my vendor fair.  I'm charging $5 for them.  There is a lot of time and materials that go into them but they really pack a punch for presentation of a gift card! 

I will be in Minnesota for Thanksgiving and I plan on teaching a gift packaging class on Tuesday, November 25.  It will be at the Davanni's in Savage, MN.  I hope my Minnesota customers will come and join me for this class!  I will be posting details in a day or two.

Halloween treat boxes

It is still warm enough in Austin Texas to use our pool.  It has been gorgeous, in the 80's, sunny and low humidity.  In fact, we are having a little pool party tomorrow with another family for some swimming, grilling out and I'm going to let the kids make some Halloween treat boxes for their teachers with this die.  Fun stuff!

Lovely Butterflies

I just got back from a whirlwind trip to Texas to look at potential houses to buy.  My husband, Doug, has been living in Austin since late September and there were some I needed to see.  We narrowed it down to one house.  It needs a lot of remodeling but my husband is handy so that isn't really a problem.  Late yesterday afternoon we wrote the earnest check out and I hopped into the shower before Doug and I went out to dinner. While I was in the shower our realtor called to say there was a house that JUST came on the market and we HAD to see it before we left town the next morning.  So I threw on some clothes and we met the realtor at the house.  It has a similiar floor plan to the house we wrote the earnest check for but it didn't need the upgrades the other house did, it has a pool in the backyard, and other really nice features.  We decided to make a bid on this house instead so we wrote another check out.  Now it appears as if we may be in a bidding war.  Crazy!  So I'm not sure which house we will end up with.  We may end up going back to the one that needs remodeling.  It has been kind of a crazy adventure trying to find a house that meets our needs.

Through all of this house move I have been trying to keep up with my stamping too.  I don't want to stop!  So I'm going to continue on with my clubs, stamping and open house right up to the very end.  We will be moving from Minnesota to Texas sometime this Summer.  I even signed up for the Stampin' Up! convention in July.

Here is a project we made in my stamp club in April.  The card box is made using the envelope punch board.  Here is a video tutorial  on how to make it.

You can fit 4 cards and envelopes in the box.  4 cards that have a lot of dimension that is.  You can fit more cards in if they don't have a lot of dimension.

Here is a link to a cool trick on how to make the butterflies look like they are partially attached to the circle.

The box is held closed by a belly band.  It is simple a piece of cardstock with the burlap wrapped around it and embellished that slides over the box.  Here is the whole set together:

Gift card holders

We wrapped up our Stamp and Scrap sale on Saturday.  We moved a lot of product in the sale!  Thanks to everyone who came and shopped.  I invite my customers to bring their stuff to sell as well.  I give them a gift card for the amount they sell.  I like to present it in something cute.  These gift card holders are quick and easy!
