This card has a simple concept.  Stamp a card front all over with various stamps and colors.  Cut the card front into 3 even panels and mount on the layer below with stampin' dimensionals.  Simple but effective!  I used the For All Things stamp set from the Holiday Catalog.  Ink colors are Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso.

Halloween treat boxes

Halloween Redo

This is the first of my Makeover Monday cards where I take a card from my sample pile and update it with current product and perhaps a tweak to the design.  This card is a clever Halloween card my friend Kristina made years ago.  I love how the inside opens up to the circle windows and popped up images and the bottom two circles are on the main base of the card.

Here is the updated card using the Freaky Friends stamp set from the current Holiday catalog and that fun ribbon!  I also tweaked the design and simplified it.

Pink Feathers

We had a garage sale yesterday.  You would think that after getting rid of a bunch of stuff before our move to Texas in July that we wouldn't have much to sell.  Wrong!  Things just don't fit the same way in our new house.  For one thing, we don't have a basement.  We had TONS of storage in our basement and in our garage at the house in Minnesota and we filled it up.  Here we don't have that kind of storage.  I went through and weeded out a bunch more stuff.  I'm happy to say that we had a lot of traffic and moved a bunch of stuff!  What we didn't sell we packed up and brought it to the Salvation Army to donate.  So we unloaded a bunch yesterday.  It feels good!  My stamping supplies I kept, of course, and they are packed up in tubs for another sale sometime.

My mother-in-law, Anita, is visiting us for a week.  We got our nails done yesterday.  I miss having someone to do that with.  I used to get my nails done on a regular basis with my friend, Kathy, in Minnesota.

We took Anita to one of our favorite restaurants in the Austin area, Saltgrass Steakhouse.  Here is Anita, my son Sam, and I at Saltgrass.  Sadly, Nick had to work so we didn't have him with us at dinner.

It's so nice to have family come and see us in our new home in Texas!  Anita is a sweetheart and fun to have around. She lives in an apartment in a senior home and she was telling me that the ladies like to give each other birthday cards.  They stick them in the door of the person who is having a birthday.  I packed her up a bundle of cards to take with her to give to her friends. She was thrilled!

We are actually having some cooler weather and rain today in Texas.  It is unusual for us.  It's a nice change.  It is supposed to only have highs in the seventies today.  I'll take it!

Blue Nutcracker

This nutcracker isn't really blue, he's happy.  I know he looks mad but that is just his serious face.  Nutcrackers are like that.  Nut cracking is serious business.  Not that I crack any nuts with my nutcrackers.  They are too beautiful for that. 

I can't get enough of this stamp set, particularly this nutcracker image.  I have said it before but I will say it again:  So much fun to color with the blendabilities!  The back ground is made by stamping the images from the Bright & Beautiful stamp set with versamark, pouring white embossing powder on the versamark and heating with my heat tool.

Our van died yesterday.  At first we thought it was the battery, but now it looks like the alternator.  He got a referral from the auto parts store for a shop to work on it and so far we are pretty pleased with the repair guy.  We may have found our new go to guy for car repair in Texas!  Such an important connection to have. 

The boys seem to be adjusting well to school.  We need to find some work/school balance for Nick.  He was scheduled to work every day this week and is already getting run down.  Even he admitted it!

Santa with a Stache!

 This Santa is from the Santa Stache stamp set that the Nutcracker image is from.  I have a collection of Santas as well as Nutcrackers so this set was made for me!  Plus I get to color them with blendabilities so I'm a happy girl! The white dots on the background of the crumb cake cardstock was done with the dot from the Work of Art stamp set.  I love that it is not a perfect dot but a distressed dot!

It's my boys' first day of school today.  It's a big deal because not only is it a new school for both boys, it's in a new state!  Nick is in 11th grade and Sam is in 9th grade.  Sam is very nervous, Nick seems to be taking it in his stride.  They actually let me take photos of them this morning.

No smile out of Sam.

I got a little smile out of Nick.

They both actually let me hug them!  I wanted to take a bunch more pictures but I didn't want to push my luck.  Their dad drove them to school today.  I will be picking them up.  We are just outside of the bus boundaries so they will be driven back and forth each day.  Of course I'm hoping they are having a great day!

Nutty for Nutcrackers!

Ooh, I'm so stoked about this stamp set, Santa Stache, from the upcoming Holiday mini!  You don't have long to wait - it goes live on August 28.  I have a collection of Nutcrackers that I proudly display at Christmas time.  I started collecting them the year I got married, 24 years ago.  I love this nutcracker image.  Combine that with my love of blendabilites, framelits and dimension and I'm in a state near Nirvana!  You see this set coordinates with the mustache framelit.  You stamp the mustache image and cut it out with the framelit and then pop that baby up with a stampin' dimensional.  Bingo!

It comes with a great Santa image too.  That one is next up for me. I sent a version of this card to my friend, Mary Jo.  She is enjoying the blendabilities so I thought she might enjoy this card too.
