Acorny Thanks

One of the things that have always drawn me to Stampin' Up! is the coordination of products.  This card is the perfect example.  It utilizes the Acorny Thank you stamp set, the Acorn Builder Punch and the Into the Woods designer paper pack is the perfect touch to tie it all together.

It's raining cats and dogs here today!  Where did that saying come from anyways?  It's really just pouring rain.  It is supposed to on Halloween too.  Boo!  I hate to see trick-or-treating ruined for the kiddos.  Kind of ironic too because it so seldom rains in Austin, Texas.  Hopefully, the weather forecast is wrong.

I have been celebrating Halloween all month.  Halloween is one of my favorite holidays.  I have had my house decked out since mid-September.  I hosted my book club and a Cabi party this month so I got to use my Halloween serving dishes too.  This week there was a witches and wine theme to the wine tasting up at the High Country Market in Round Rock.  It was so much fun!  Here we are with our Wizard of Wine Sommelier, Zahir.

Witch Hat

Owl Birthday

The Holiday catalog goes live on September 1.  Just a few short days away!  Do you want another sneak peek from this catalog?  Of course you do!  I haven't gotten around to making holiday cards with the sets yet.  Instead I have been working on birthday cards using Christmas and Halloween sets.  There is a darling owl in the new stamp set, Howl-o-ween Treat.  We all know owls can be used for much more than Halloween.  Here is a card with that owl and a birthday theme.

I actually combined 3 stamp sets to make this.  You can see them listed below.  I just used the designer paper as my guide for the color scheme.  I love how this makes a card come together and color coordinate beautifully! And there is a framelit set that cuts out that owl with your Big Shot and the rest of the stamp set as well!  Love it!!!

My sons started their first days of 10th and 12th grade this past Tuesday.  My daughter starts her senior year of college on Monday.  I have two seniors!  She will be student teaching this year starting Monday.  She seems to really be liking the elementary education field.  I know this year will fly by for her!

Happy Birthday Penguin

I'll be making Christmas cards with this set real soon.  Maybe sooner than you would like but a girl has to play with new stuff!  I have fun new Halloween stuff too.  Is it too early for you for that?  Well, I may do the same thing with some of my Halloween and make it into birthday or baby or some other occasion first.

We are in the last minute back to school stuff mode in our house right now.  I took both boys to the dentist this week and Nick has a cavity.  Boo!  Luckily, I was able to sneak in another appointment to get that taken care of before school starts.  They both get physicals the day before school starts.  Talk about cutting it close!  School starts Tuesday, August 25 here.  I know some kids have started back to school already.  Yikes!
